BRC Global Food Safety standard
BRC, the former British Retail Consortium, changed the meaning of BRC to Brand, Reputation and Compliance after purchased by LGC group.
On August 1, 2018, BRC released the latest version of BRC Food Standards, the 8th version of BRC Food Safety global standards, and will be implemented from February 1, 2019.
BRC has developed a set of food safety, quality system audit standards for food suppliers, which contains the quality of food suppliers and safety and health assurance capabilities of the assessment requirements, by UKAS and other National Accreditation Committee recognition.
GFSI-Global Food Safety Initiative, launched by CIES, a member of more than 200 supermarket groups worldwide, BRC has been recognized as the standard recommended by the Organization to its members.
BRC's auditing standards are widely recognized by global food retailers and are then used by most food retailers and procurement groups around the world as a threshold for access to suppliers. Therefore, through the BRC audit, it has become an important condition for food producers to sell their products to the global market.
With BRC certification, you can reduce the number of audits of suppliers, thereby reducing the cost of vendor audits.
